On 9th July, 2010, Boon Tiam from ACS (Independent) who heads the rooftop garden project, announced that the garden had achieved the “Gold Award” under the “Community in Blooms Award 2010” .
"Setting up the system is a breeze...." , yes not too difficult after all.
"Wow... there are a lot more over here..."
" Salad, anyone?" Butterhead lettuce a temperate vegetable, is growing very well in our hydroponic system. Look ! how healthy and well-grown these lettuce are.
Growing rice is also not a problem when you know how to manage the hydroponic system.
Lavender is native to the mountainous area in the Mediterranean region where it grows in sunny. It was definitely a great achievement when Lavender could grow so vibrantly in the system. Look, the flowers were also in full bloom. How could I resist not taking a closer look at these attractive and precious flowers.

"不好意思啦... 谢谢大家的帮忙..."
"Hello there, Boon Tiam" - the man behind the success of the rooftop garden. He is busy with the upkeeping of the organic garden on the rooftop which is beside the hydroponic greenhouse.
Hi-Tech farming really can do wonders. Perhaps, this could be one of the answers to food shortage worldwide if appropriate technology can be used to produce more crops and food in places where large-scale soil cultivation is not possible - like Singapore !
Rooftop is one good area to explore for greens. In countries like Singapore garden on the rooftop not also adds colour to our concrete jungle, it can also lowers down the building temperature. The recent Sky Garden is a good example of rooftop garden.
