Green @ Hillgrove - A Go Green Initiative That Cares!

It was a special day on 24th July day ! Hillgrove Secondary School presented a cheque of S$2000.00 to Bukit Batok - New Horizon Centre. New Horizon Centre is part of the Singapore Alzheimer's Disease Association. The Centre aims to help increase families' abilities to cope with and continue caring for family members with dementia and/or physical disabilities. Students from Hillgrove Secondary School collected recyclables like old newspaper from the neighbourhood on 17th July. Sembcorp Tay Paper Recycling Pte Ltd collected all the recyclables and made a S$1 for S$1 donation!

As a token for the donations of recyclables from the residents, they were given coupons where they could exchange for hydroponics vegetables sponsored by Oh' Farms or instant noodles sponsored by Sembcorp Tay Paper Recycling Pte Ltd on the 24th July.

Mr Ang Mong Seng, BBM, MP for Hong Kah GRC and Adviser to Hong Kah GRC GROs, graced the occasion.

A cheque of total S$2000.00 was presented to New Horizon Centre.

Tokens of Appreciation were also presented to sponsors - we are glad to be one of the sponsors. Look at these high-standard and beautiful art pieces done by the students of Hillgrove Secondary School.

It is very encouraging to see Hillgrove putting in effort to raise fund for the needy through environmentally friendly methods. Oh' Farms is delighted to be able to contribute a small part in the success of this event.

Recycling plays a very big part in our Environment. It is the process of breaking down waste materials into their original elements and be used to produce new products. In this way, we can conserve on the consumption of resources, energy and space used in landfills. At the same time, reduce the harmful waste we discard into the environment.

Every Go-Green effort counts, whether big or small, as a group or an individual in the quest of saving our Mother Nature, Gaia!
